Software Engineer (Product‑Focused) | Design‑Led Construction Technology
Southwark | Hybrid (typically 3 days in the office) | 12 Month Fixed‑Term Contract
Circa £55,000 – £65,000 (flexible for the right person)
Some Software Engineers enjoy solving technical problems. Others enjoy solving human ones. They notice awkward workflows and clunky user experiences and instinctively think about how they could be better.
We’re working as the exclusive recruitment partner to an established consultancy in a transformative phase, led by a Chief Development Officer. The focus is to build a technology platform that makes complex project information easier to understand, manage and use.
What you will be doing
Contribute across the platform, including:
- Designing intuitive, user‑centred interfaces.
- Turning complex construction workflows into intuitive digital experiences.
- Working across the wider software platform and existing architecture.
- Collaborating on API integrations and business logic.
- Improving workflows and simplifying complex user journeys.
- Helping shape future features, priorities and the product roadmap.
- Continuously refining the platform through user‑focused thinking and iterative development.
We are particularly interested in people who…
- Think beyond writing code and enjoy building products.
- Care as much about user experience as technical quality.
- Question how things could work better.
- Enjoy taking products from good to exceptional.
- Work in environments where ideas are welcomed and ownership is encouraged.
- Work closely with business leaders and help shape decisions, rather than merely delivering a vision.
Experience within architecture, construction, BIM, Design Technology or PropTech would be a genuine advantage, but not essential. What matters more is strong software engineering skills combined with product thinking, curiosity and a desire to build something meaningful.
Why this opportunity is different
- Work directly with the Chief Development Officer from day one.
- Influence the product direction at an early stage.
- Collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
- Create software that prioritises simplicity, usability, and exceptional user experience.
- Enjoy autonomy and visible impact.
- Modern offices in Southwark with a hybrid approach.
- Leave fingerprints on a growing platform.
Role is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with hybrid working from Southwark, typically around three days per week. Salary is benchmarked at £55,000‑£65,000 with flexibility for the right candidate.
