We are looking for a Salesforce Developer to join the Supporter Revenue Platform team in our product and engineering department. The team ensures that:
- GNM’s Contact Centre has the Salesforce Service Cloud tooling to do the tasks they need to do
- The Guardian’s Help Centre is genuinely useful to customers and deflects as many contacts from the above as possible
- Finance staff can access data and generate the reports they need to report on revenue and meet regulatory requirements
- Our operational systems warehouse their data to BigQuery comprehensively and reliably
- Our technology stack satisfies external auditor requirements
The team’s technology ownership spans across the full stack, and includes AWS, Salesforce, BigQuery, Zuora, Stripe, PayPal and GoCardless.
About the role
- Working with Apex, Lightning Web Components and declarative Salesforce configuration, but we use the tool that best fits the problem.
- Developing new features in Salesforce, integrating with our own internal services and 3rd party software.
- Providing the occasional piece of 3rd line support helping resolve some of our more complicated queries.
- Modernising deployment pipeline and testing, to operate in line with the rest of our agile processes.
- Working in a cross-functional team, which is empowered to rapidly iterate and release new features.
- You won’t be coding in isolation – our culture is strongly collaborative, whether pair programming with other developers or working closely with editorial and commercial colleagues.
- Sometimes deciding what code to write is as hard as writing the code itself. As an engineer you’ll be involved in product decisions as well as technical ones.
About you
- Experience working with the Salesforce platform with demonstrated knowledge of best practice, engineering principles and features.
- Collaborative, comfortable working with stakeholders to make meaningful changes.
- Experience working with Apex, Lightning Web Components and declarative Salesforce configuration.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team in an agile environment.
- Certifications such as Salesforce Platform Developer and/or Salesforce Agentforce Specialist are not essential for this role, but similar demonstrated experience would support your application.
Equal Opportunity Statement
We actively encourage applications from groups traditionally underrepresented in the UK media. Our developers operate in a hybrid environment working 1 day a week from our offices in Kings Cross and 4 days a week remotely.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary for new Salesforce Developers is £57,000 per year. We offer 30 days of annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) with the option to purchase an additional 5 days. Our pension scheme is generous; if you contribute 5% then we will contribute 8-12% (depending on your age). Employees have two volunteering days annually and the option of payroll giving. Season ticket loans are available.
You are entitled to private healthcare, life cover, income protection, and eye tests. You can also opt in to dental insurance. We have enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave policies in place, and also support employees with IVF, menopause, baby loss, and trans equality policy.
