AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS)
AIS owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Design and manage high and medium voltage substation systems across multiple geographical regions.
- Develop comprehensive electrical infrastructure designs using advanced engineering software.
- Collaborate with regional vendors, manufacturers, and utility providers to specify optimal electrical equipment.
- Create detailed construction documents and technical specifications that meet rigorous quality standards.
- Support project life cycle from site selection through commissioning and system validation.

Your day will be a dynamic blend of technical design, collaborative problem solving, and strategic planning. You’ll transition seamlessly between conceptualizing electrical system designs, engaging with cross‑functional teams, and developing innovative solutions that push the boundaries of data center engineering.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities, including but not limited to data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
- Experience in commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer License.
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
