We’re looking for a hands‑on Senior Azure Platform & Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of the Azure environment, working closely with the CTO.
This is a practical role within a smaller business, focused on improving, securing and supporting an existing Azure estate. You’ll be comfortable working independently, documenting inherited environments, making sensible technical recommendations, and balancing operational support with platform improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and support the Azure platform day-to-day.
- Manage Azure infrastructure including VMs, networking, backup, recovery and monitoring.
- Improve platform security through hardening, patching, Defender recommendations and monitoring.
- Document architecture, standards, runbooks and disaster recovery processes.
- Support Microsoft 365 and related cloud services where required.
- Communicate progress, priorities and risks clearly to the CTO.
- Azure IaaS (VMs, VNets, NSGs, routing, backup and monitoring).
- Good understanding of Azure networking, including VPNs and Private Endpoints.
- Practical cloud security experience (Defender, hardening, patching and logging).
- Experience documenting existing environments.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of technical decisions.
- Terraform or Bicep.
- Backup & DR testing.
- Cyber Essentials or ISO27001 experience.
This role is perfect for someone who can own the Azure platform, improve it over time, communicate clearly, and work from outcomes rather than detailed task lists. This role is well suited to candidates from smaller organisations, MSPs or lean infrastructure teams where broad technical ownership has been part of the role.
What’s on Offer
- Cycle to Work Scheme.
- Company perks and free breakfasts.
- Regular company events.
