Veterinary Ambulance Manager
We are looking for a Veterinary Ambulance Manager to ensure the safe, timely, and compassionate transport of sick, injured, or distressed animals. This managerial position requires operational leadership, logistical coordination, staff management, and a commitment to animal welfare.

To be based from our Hospital – Unit A1, Priestley Road, Wardley Business Park, Worsley, Manchester, M28 2LY.
Contract & Hours
Contract: Permanent. Hours: 38.5 hours per week. Shift Pattern: Variety of days and nights, 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am.
Key Responsibilities
- Line management of the ambulance team: check-ins, holiday requests, performance management, shift planning, overtime submissions, and cover for absences.
- Team coordination: organise and coordinate drivers daily to ensure efficient coverage and service delivery.
- Relationship building and communication: maintain open lines of communication with team members through suitable channels.
- Client liaison: manage records, handle pricing and invoicing.
- Clinical oversight: ensure highest standards of patient care during transport, audit services, maintain vehicle and equipment safety checks, van hygiene, and handling equipment sanitation.
- Commercial management: financial awareness, procedural knowledge, risk management, emergency preparedness, change management, service promotion, and resource management.
Key Skills Required
- Animal handling experience, ideally in a veterinary or dog-handling setting.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Technical proficiency: Word, Excel and ProVet.
- Organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Problem-splitting and use of tact in difficult situations.
- Industry knowledge and understanding.
- Full driving licence; ability to drive a manual vehicle.
- Stress management and ability to work effectively under pressure.
