Are you a data‑driven problem solver who is keen on protecting fair play and improving the player experience in MMO games?
What you’ll be doing:
- Support the day‑to‑day operation of the Anti‑Cheat team, helping ensure key KPIs, SLAs, and player sentiment remain on track.
- Analyse large datasets to identify suspicious behaviours, botting activity, and gold farming trends.
- Work closely with Game Analytics, Data Science, and Product teams to develop effective anti‑cheat strategies and deterrents.
- Translate complex datasets into clear insights and practical recommendations that improve game integrity.
- Support the development and enhancement of game telemetry by partnering with Engineering and Design teams.
- Collaborate with central Data teams to define reporting requirements and improve data products.
- Build a deep understanding of game systems, player behaviours, and telemetry to improve the effectiveness of anti‑cheat initiatives.
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, helping drive informed decision‑making across the business.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience querying and analysing data using SQL, with a strong understanding of data cleansing techniques.
- A demonstrable understanding of video game player behaviours, particularly in MMORPGs and preferably in Old School RuneScape and/or RuneScape.
- Familiarity with modern data platforms and architectures such as AWS, Snowflake, and OLAP technologies.
- Experience creating reports and visualisations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies within large datasets.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical findings in a clear, accessible way.
- A proactive approach to problem‑solving and a passion for using data to improve player experiences.
