Senior Staff Nurse – CIS (Stafford only)

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Staff Nurse to join our Community Intervention Service. You will work closely with the Lead Practitioner and Operational Lead to support service delivery, staff development and the evolution of community nursing across Stafford and nearby areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership to the Nursing Team, ensuring safe, effective, and high‑quality care delivery.
  • Manage a clinical caseload across a wide geographical area, delivering care within patients’ homes.
  • Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating care pathways.
  • Deliver a wide range of clinical interventions, including medication administration via injections and intravenous routes, ECG monitoring, wound assessment and management, catheter care and line care.
  • Support and supervise staff to enable consistent delivery of high‑quality care.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Practitioner and Operational Lead to drive service development and performance.
  • Engage with complex patients to develop mutually agreed treatment plans and deliver evidence‑based care.
  • Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Facilitate early hospital discharge and contribute to the prevention of hospital admissions.
  • Act as an effective leader, role‑modeling Trust values.
  • Support staff development through mentorship, supervision, and sharing clinical expertise.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes, including audit, incident reporting, and patient feedback.
  • Take responsibility for the management of staff and service delivery in the absence of the Clinical Lead/Operational Lead.
  • Demonstrate ability to make sound, independent clinical decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Nurse with significant community nursing experience.
  • NMC Registration.
  • Post‑graduate study in relevant subjects (preferred).
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with ability to inspire and support a team.
  • Competence in a broad range of clinical skills, including IV therapy and complex care delivery in community settings.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across health and social care settings.
  • Passionate about delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care and driving service improvement.

Salary

£39,959 to £48,117 per annum (pro‑rated).
