Overview

We are recruiting a Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAPs) apprentice in the Sarum Community Mental Health Team, one of Wiltshire’s three recovery teams. This apprenticeship expands services for people with serious mental health difficulties, giving talented psychology graduates an opportunity to train on‑the‑job in psychological interventions within a community setting.

Responsibilities

  • Form part of a multidisciplinary team, receiving direct supervision from a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Complete a structured programme of learning including personal study, academic work, placement learning and assessment, leading to an MSc in Clinical Associate Psychology.
  • Perform specialised psychological assessments, treatments and other clinical interventions with individuals and groups of service users.
  • Receive regular supervision to meet the required levels of competence for the MSc course and the end‑point assessment.
  • Progress towards working independently under supervision on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Abide by the BPS Code of Conduct and meet NHS induction standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate in psychology with experience working with people with complex mental health problems.
  • Willingness to undertake the M.Sc. CAP apprenticeship and complete the end‑point assessment within 18 months.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion, with a particular interest in supporting under‑represented groups in the psychology workforce.
