Position Summary
The post holder will work predominantly with Urology and Novel Oncology Therapies research studies, collaborating with principal investigators, the research team and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide patients with an opportunity to participate in research studies.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex studies and manage a caseload within the bounds of their registration.
- Support other studies and recruit patients into clinical research, including clinical trials of drugs and new interventions within set time limits.
- Monitor patients and observe for side effects, reporting according to set protocols.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of data derived from research studies.
- Ensure all research undertaken safeguards the well‑being of participants and is conducted within the research governance framework.
- Complete the Research and Development training programme as part of the role.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Excellent communication, organisational, time‑management and documentation skills.
- Experience in clinical research is an advantage; solid nursing experience with evidence of continuing professional development and willingness to learn is acceptable.
- Commitment to personal development and keen interest in the future development of the profession and oncology research.
