Field Service Engineer (Industrial Cleaning Equipment)

  • Location: Bromley, London (applications welcome from commutable areas)
  • Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 basic (OTE £50,000+)
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (days only) + door-to-door travel paid + overtime at 1.5x

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer with an electromechanical background, offering excellent opportunities for training, development, and career progression.

The Role

  • Attend breakdowns, carry out servicing, and complete installations on industrial cleaning equipment
  • Cover a local patch (typically within a 1-hour radius)
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and electronic fault-finding and repairs
  • Work on engines (petrol, diesel, LPG) and associated systems
  • Use a variety of tools, including hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and hot work equipment
  • Manage your own workload to ensure high standards and timely completion
  • Complete service documentation and order parts as required
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

  • Experience in electrical and/or mechanical fault finding, service, and repair
  • Strong engineering background (e.g., plant engineer, maintenance engineer, mechanical fitter, hydraulic/pneumatic engineer)
  • Experience with engines and diagnostic tools is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical tools
  • Engineering qualifications (NVQ/City & Guilds) – advantageous but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence
