Responsibilities
- Be the Mechanical Projects Engineer for all facility systems, services & infrastructure across the campus.
- Technically own, monitor, manage and continually enhance mechanical systems and infrastructure services on site.
- Technically specify, manage and continually enhance the mechanical infrastructure on new and ongoing projects and operations for all mechanical/HVAC systems and requirements for all buildings and areas on site.
- Ensure all projects and programmes within responsibility support requirements of ISO50001 Energy Management standard and document all project work to evidence compliance.
- Own, monitor, manage and update all mechanical/HVAC and infrastructure drawings in Auto‑CAD 2D, creating PDF versions for end users.
- Plan, orchestrate and lead allocated Facilities Capital projects and cross‑functional projects as part of the Facilities Programme Management team.
- Produce the project plans, monitor performance for risks and issues and resolve problems to maintain delivery on time, on budget and to required quality targets.
- Manage people, tasks, schedules and resources through the project lifecycle.
- Lead communication with team members, advising stakeholders and ensuring project work is executed smoothly.
- Produce a cost plan based on the brief supplied and monitor it throughout the project, flagging any deficits to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop a close working relationship with all departments and customers, ensuring minimal disruption to business core activities and other maintenance activity works.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory legislation for all mechanical/infrastructure services and equipment under your remit.
- Produce and present Capital Expenditure requests to the Senior Management Team.
- Mentor and support the Facilities Technical Projects Team Graduates and interns, including selection, interviewing and placement support.
- Keep personal development current with new technologies and processes advantageous to the evolution of the mechanical infrastructure and systems.
- Manage mechanical services to the site network, becoming the “go to” person for all Mechanical service‑related queries and knowledge.
- Identify, review and update existing Mechanical record CAD drawings, surveying and creating as‑installed drawings using AutoCAD.
- Generate up‑to‑date documentation and labelling systems for each sub‑system, including AutoCAD and PDF formats, and update labelling conventions.
- Design and validate mechanical specifications for allocated projects, create construction CAD drawings and multi‑service drawings for allocated projects.
- Manage projects from start to completion within budget and timescale, producing AutoCAD 2D drawings for projects you are involved with and for other departments.

- Prepare risk assessments and method statements for tasks not covered by the site’s standard operating practices (SOP) and ensure suppliers and sub‑contractors’ Method Statements and Risk Assessments are read and understood before any work is undertaken.
- Maintain regular links with the associated Facility, Test Operations, Engine Build and all other operational teams, carrying out presentations to keep them updated on changes or enhancements to the Mechanical systems and services.
- Undertake any other tasks or duties as required by management in response to business needs.
- Ensure compliance with statutory certification of equipment, all elements of the MB‑HPP Health and Safety Policy, and maintain a safe and secure working environment in compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on site.
- Be skilled at working successfully in a fast‑paced, highly dynamic and constantly demanding environment, self‑delivering tasks and projects, challenging ideas while maintaining respect and confidence of colleagues, calmly troubleshooting and delivering convincing solutions to tight deadlines.
- Have at least three years’ experience in Plant/Facilities and infrastructure Engineering or a related production or development environment, and at least three years of experience delivering complex projects across many engineering disciplines.
- Be conversant with Auto‑CAD 2D, MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Hold an ONC, HNC, HND or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Exhibit professional, well‑presented, articulate and confident personality; enthusiastic, self‑driven, highly motivated with a can‑do attitude.
- Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills, analytical skills especially in strategic business and financial analysis, highly organised with strong time and project management experience, flexible and adaptable to change, hands‑on when needed and proactive in meeting cost, quality and time requirements.
