An established and growing manufacturing business based in Herne Bay is seeking a Manufacturing & Process Improvement Engineer to support its continued expansion and investment in production operations.

This is a unique opportunity to join a forward‑thinking company that designs and manufactures specialist products for customers across the UK and internationally. As production demand continues to increase, the business is looking for an individual who can combine practical engineering expertise with a passion for continuous improvement.

The Role

Working closely with senior management, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of production systems and the long‑term development of manufacturing processes. It is a varied position where no two days are the same. You’ll be equally comfortable troubleshooting production challenges on the factory floor as you are contributing ideas and solutions to improve efficiency, automation and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting production operations and manufacturing systems
  • Troubleshooting equipment and process‑related issues
  • Assisting with material handling and production workflows
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Supporting automation and systems development projects
  • Helping the business improve capacity, efficiency and overall productivity
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to support future growth plans

About You

  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment
  • Knowledge of material handling systems and production processes
  • Experience with Siemens SCADA systems (highly desirable)
  • A hands‑on, practical approach to problem‑solving
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to balance operational support with improvement‑focused projects
