About The Role

As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will assist senior engineers and the wider team in the design process to gain a detailed working knowledge of all parts of the industry. You will carry out detailed design and calculations in accordance with industry guides, prepare specifications, reports and drawings, and oversee project site works snags and testing as directed by your line manager or group lead.

We’re looking for a personable self‑starter who projects a positive “can do” professional attitude, maintains good working relationships, works collaboratively across disciplines, and can handle a varied workload under tight deadlines while maintaining technical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Engineers with detailed design tasks and drawing production.
  • Develop an understanding of building materials and techniques.
  • Carry out detailed design calculations and use computer design packages.
  • Maintain a Continuing Professional Development diary and training log.
  • Learn appropriate legislation, standards, building regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Attend site visits, meetings, and relevant training to achieve Chartered status.
  • Help maintain QA systems on projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a relevant subject.
  • Good IT knowledge and experience, including Microsoft Office.
  • Personable, can‑do attitude and good resource‑management skills.
  • Clear, concise, professional communication skills with clients, colleagues and suppliers.
  • Some knowledge of design analysis software preferred.
  • Ability to build rapport with project team and clients.
  • Team‑work oriented and cooperative.
