Job Overview
The role is a 9‑month fixed‑term contract, hybrid (3 days per week onsite) based in Tranent, East Lothian. The HR Business Partner reports to the Associate Director, Human Resources and will support the organisation’s HR strategy and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support employees throughout the full cycle of the employee journey from onboarding to off‑boarding.
- Business partner with internal stakeholders to provide commercially focused support and guidance.
- Manage complex employee relations cases, providing advice and guidance.
- Assist with performance and absence management casework.
- Analyse and recommend improvements for processes, digitisation and streamlining.
- Analyse insights from key HR data to diagnose trends that impact business performance.
- Provide additional support to the wider HR team as required.
- Assist with succession planning.
- Produce regular HR metrics and analysis.
- Review and enhance HR policies and employee experience.
- Ensure compliance with employment law.
- Support talent management and employee engagement activities.
- Assist with annual budget, bonus planning and salary planning.
- Develop and manage effective working relationships throughout the organisation.
Qualifications
- Minimum level 5 CIPD qualification or equivalent (or working towards this).
- Established record of success in an HR Generalist/HR Business Partner role.
- Confident, flexible team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels and adapt to different ways of working, influencing and leading.
- Excellent IT, administrative and analytical skills.
- Robust knowledge of employment law.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Flexible approach to work and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, complex and evolving environment with ability to deliver against challenging deadlines.
- Must be able to travel to the Tranent site.
- Full and permanent Right to Work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
Salary range: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum, plus bonus and benefits.
