Purpose & Scope of the Role

As a Quantity Surveyor within our Bristol-based team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of major residential, defence, and government property projects. Working within a multi-disciplinary environment, you will provide expert cost consultancy across the full project lifecycle—from early feasibility through to completion. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and clients, using advanced tools such as CostX to deliver accurate, strategic cost advice while supporting innovative, low‑carbon design solutions.

Your Impact in this position

In this role, you will influence key project decisions by providing clear, data‑led cost guidance and ensuring financial efficiency at every stage. You will build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor within integrated project teams. Your contribution will help shape project outcomes, drive value engineering initiatives, and ensure successful procurement and cost management across a diverse portfolio of developments.

Cost Planning & Estimating

Develop detailed cost plans for complex projects using industry‑leading tools. Analyse design options and advise on cost implications.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Build effective relationships with clients, contractors, and design teams. Communicate technical insights clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Commercial Management

Deliver full construction‑stage cost management services. Monitor and report on cost movements, ensuring transparency and control.

Strategic Thinking & Value Engineering

Contribute to value engineering and risk management workshops. Provide forward‑thinking, strategic cost advice to optimise project outcomes.

Project & Team Leadership

Support and coordinate internal and external project teams. Adapt to evolving project priorities while maintaining high delivery standards.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

You will bring proven experience in quantity surveying within a technical environment, ideally with or working towards RICS membership. A strong track record in delivering high‑quality cost consultancy services, combined with experience managing project teams, is essential. You will be a confident communicator with a strategic mindset, capable of influencing stakeholders and driving best practice. Security clearance (or eligibility to obtain it) is required.

This role is based in Bristol with opportunities to collaborate across regional offices.
