Responsibilities

You’ll deliver excellent execution across the store and embed consistent routines that deliver availability, waste and shrink. You’ll review store process to deliver great metrics and KRAs for availability, waste and shrink by embedding routine and process across the shop floor, adhering to contract base management and wage control whilst leading and coaching our managers and teams to deliver excellent store standards across Ambient and Fresh departments as well as George and General Merchandising in our large format stores.

You lead with heart, building self-esteem by recognising effort, attitude, and growth, creating an environment where people feel valued, trusted, and motivated to step up. You listen with empathy, respond with care, and create space for open, respectful conversations on the shop floor and beyond.   • Commercial awareness: understanding how availability, waste, and shrink impact performance and ability to improve them, leading the shrink agenda through the team, driving standards, ensuring the POS best way is followed across the store, and delivering a strong value message for our customers.
  • Coaching and Leadership: coaching and supporting your leadership team on delivering brilliant shopfloor standards and developing future talent by engaging and coaching your team to constantly improve routine and process while creating a culture of serving our customers with personality, heart and pride, and getting one more item in every basket.
  • Organised and efficient: thriving in a fast-paced environment and knowing how to prioritise and delegate effectively to ensure promotional activity lands to brief and on time by the team.
  • Collaborative: working across teams to ensure smooth operations and a seamless customer experience.
  • Data-driven: using insight to make informed decisions and drive operational improvements, leading the shrink agenda by driving standards and ensuring the store remains legal and compliant for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience managing diverse teams in a large-format retail environment with energy and pace.
  • Strong operational knowledge across food and non-food departments.
  • A track record of improving availability, reducing waste, and managing shrink.
  • Confidence in developing large teams and managing change through leadership and building resilience.
  • Experience managing ER cases and understanding HR policies and processes.
  • Strong organisational skills and exceeding customer service.
