Job Description:

Reporting to the Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of a portfolio of highway, civil engineering and traffic management schemes, from feasibility through to construction.

You will contribute to a varied programme of works including cycle improvements, junction upgrades, public realm schemes and local highway projects, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, and meets client expectations.

Role

  • Undertaking feasibility studies and detailed design of highways and civil engineering schemes
  • Analysing engineering challenges and developing practical, compliant solutions
  • Managing projects through all stages including delivery on site
  • Preparing designs, specifications and programmes
  • Supporting delivery on time and within budget
  • Liaising with stakeholders including councils and the public
  • Producing reports and attending meetings
  • Ensuring designs meet required standards and specifications
  • Maintaining accurate project recordsProviding professional and technical advice
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members

About You

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (desirable)
  • Membership of relevant professional body (desirable)
  • Experience in highway design and legislation (essential)
  • Knowledge of highway law and procedures (essential)
  • Experience with Traffic Regulation Orders (essential)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (essential)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
