Job Overview
MBDA Facilities Management is searching for an exceptional Facilities Project Manager based in Stevenage to manage a diverse range of construction and facilities projects across the Stevenage and other Southern sites. The role involves developing requirements, supporting procurement, delivering projects up to £10million, establishing professional teams for larger works, and coordinating the project lifecycle. The position is a fixed‑term contract of 2 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate business‑critical construction and facilities projects, ensuring timely and within‑budget deliveries.
- Develop project requirements, support procurement, and produce fully cost business cases to enable senior management funding approval.
- Manage projects up to £10million in value and oversee external contractors and internal teams to achieve project milestones.
- Understand and apply RIBA stages of project delivery and conduct thorough site assessments to ensure compliance with MBDA’s high standards and regulations.
- Navigate projects using project‑management expertise to oversee quality control, manage risks, and implement problem‑solving strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, provide regular project updates, and collaborate closely with executive and director‑level colleagues.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience in project management with a proven track record of delivering projects within an operational site.
- Proficient in managing construction projects, with particular focus on H&S.
- Strong financial acumen, including project budgeting and reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written presentation skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Proficiency in using project‑management software tools.
- Knowledge of RIBA stages of project delivery and site assessment processes.
Other Requirements
- Security clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship. Ability to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
Compensation
Salary approximately £60,000 depending on experience.
