NMain purpose of the role & responsibilities in the business: NAs a Lead Platform Engineer (Consultant) in Kainos, you’ll be responsible for leading teams to design, automate, build, manage and optimise modern digital service platforms. It’s a fast-paced environment and you’ll be trusted to make sound, reasoned decisions. You’ll do this whilst learning about new technologies and approaches, with colleagues that will help you to learn, develop and grow. As the technical leader in the team, you will also interact with customers, share knowledge and mentor those around you. NYour key responsibilities will include: NnnWorking as part of a team – You’ll work alongside colleagues in engineering, testing, consulting, product management and security capabilities to build, test and deploy software of the highest quality; including the operationand continuous improvement of underlying platform services. NnnUsing technology for positive impact – You’ll ensure the latest technologies are employed appropriately and aligned with industry best practices for maximum user and business benefit. NnnShare your knowledge – As a respected technologist within Kainos, you’ll begin broadcasting your opinions. NnnMinimum (essential) requirements NnnStrong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to simply and clearly communicate technical design (or significant portions thereof) in conversation, documentation and presentation to a technical and non-technical audience. NnnWe all work in teams here in Kainos – You’ll need a proven experience of team leadership and supporting a DevOps culture in delivering and/or supporting complex projects. NnnThe rolerequires SC Clearance. NnnSignificant expertise in: NnnDesigning, building, testing, automating, monitoring and/or operating, enhancing and improving reliability of modern digital service platform in production environments. NnnUsing the latest Continuous Delivery and automation techniques for releasing operationally ready software to production, including platform orchestration through the use of multiple configuration management tools NnnDemonstrable experience in: NnnBuilding and/or supporting modern digital service platforms to include architecture, design, estimation, planning and iteration on MVP using a modern agile approach. NnnChampioning best practice use of Site Reliability Engineering tooling, techniques and processes to manage and improve existing platform services. E.G. monitoring, platform modernisation and cost optimisation. NnnUse of AWS including SaaS or PaaS offerings to solve business problems. NnnDesirable NnnObtained certification with a public cloud provider (AWS). NnnObtainedcertification relating to a particular area of specialisation e.G. Kubernetes CKAD.
