Overview:
An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Planner to join our globally renowned aerospace client in their Engineering team supporting the E-7 Wedgetail Mk1 AEW&C programme in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining and managing electronic manufacturing work packages to support aircraft maintenance, repair and modification activities. Working within a Part 145 regulated environment, you will ensure all manufacturing plans and technical documentation comply with regulatory, quality and client’s standards while supporting production delivery throughout the aircraft’s initial production phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, develop and maintain detailed manufacturing work packages and electronic work instructions using GoldESP IG1 in accordance with Part 145 and the client’s processes.
- Produce clear, accurate and compliant technical work instructions by interpreting engineering drawings, OEM data, design documentation and authorised maintenance publications.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing plans and work packages to support aircraft maintenance, repair and modification activities.
- Manage configuration control of engineering baselines, master manufacturing plans, aircraft-specific work orders and non-conformance documentation.
- Act as the interface between the shop floor and engineering teams, managing technical queries and monitoring workflow performance.
- Ensure all production documentation meets regulatory, quality and maintenance recording requirements.
- Support maintenance planning activities by reviewing engineering data, statements of work, aircraft work requests and deferred maintenance tasks.
- Provide technical guidance to production teams by interpreting engineering documentation, technical drawings and authorised technical publications.
- Coordinate and prioritise multiple work packages to ensure delivery to schedule, budget and quality requirements.
- Maintain compliance with MAA Regulatory Articles, MRP Part 145, Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience within an aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) or aircraft production environment.
- Experience supporting scheduled aircraft maintenance, repair and modification programmes.
- Strong technical writing skills with experience producing detailed manufacturing work instructions and electronic work packages.
- Proven experience using Engineering Resource Planning systems, particularly GoldESP IG1.
- Good understanding of configuration management, technical documentation and manufacturing planning processes.
- Working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MRP Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical publications and maintenance documentation to support production activities.
- Strong planning, organisational and workload management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across engineering, production and customer teams.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning processes, including Statements of Work (SoW), Aircraft Work Requests (AWRs) and deferred maintenance activities, would be highly advantageous.
