Job Description:

Employment Lawyer – 6 Month Assignment. 7 + PQE

We are working with a market-leading Alternative Legal Services Provider on an exciting interim opportunity for a senior Employment Lawyer to support the legal function of a global technology and engineering business.

This is an immediate requirement for an initial 6-month assignment, offering fully remote working within the UK and flexibility to work between 3 and 5 days per week. The role would suit an experienced Employment Lawyer looking to work autonomously within a fast-paced international business undergoing significant organisational change.

The successful lawyer will become the primary employment law adviser for the client’s UK operations, supporting HR and senior stakeholders across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. A key focus of the assignment will be advising on upcoming employment law reforms, updating employment documentation and policies, and providing practical, commercially focused advice on employee relations, payroll and benefits matters as the business establishes its standalone legal function.

Whilst the majority of the work is advisory in nature, the successful individual should also be comfortable managing contentious employment matters and litigation where required. There is also scope to support employment issues across the APAC region, making previous international experience advantageous, although not essential.

Candidates are likely to be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification experience specialising in UK employment law.
  • Strong experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
  • The ability to operate confidently with minimal to no supervision and manage senior HR stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience advising on restructurings, employee relations, settlement agreements, employment contracts and wider workforce matters.
  • A pragmatic, commercially focused and measured approach to providing legal advice.
  • Exposure to international employment matters, particularly across APAC, would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Availability to commence an assignment at short notice.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised business at a pivotal stage in its evolution, supporting senior stakeholders on a varied and high-profile employment law workload while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote assignment.
