Looking to work on one of Europe’s largest broadcast platforms?
I’m supporting a leading UK pay-TV broadcaster in the search for a Project Engineer to help deliver projects across its broadcast headend infrastructure.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on encoding, multiplexing and transport stream technologies, supporting a platform that delivers television services to millions of households across the UK and Ireland.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver end-to-end engineering projects across the broadcast headend, from design through to implementation and operational handover.
- Configure and support Ericsson/Tandberg (MediaKind) MX8400/MX400 multiplexers and Harmonic ProStream platforms.
- Build, validate and troubleshoot MPEG transport streams, including statistical multiplexing, SI/PSI, EPG data and conditional access.
- Plan and implement changes within a live 24/7 broadcast environment.
- Produce technical documentation, test plans, and implementation records.
- Investigate complex streaming and multiplexing issues using industry monitoring and analysis tools.
- Work closely with playout, distribution, satellite, and network engineering teams.
What we’re looking for
- Experience with Ericsson/Tandberg/MediaKind multiplexers and/or Harmonic ProStream.
- Strong understanding of MPEG-2/H.264, DVB standards and transport stream architecture.
- Experience delivering engineering projects in live broadcast environments.
- Knowledge of conditional access and scrambling workflows.
- Experience using transport stream analysis and monitoring tools.
Desirable:
- Experience with a broadcaster, pay-TV platform, managed service provider or broadcast technology vendor.
- Exposure to IP video transport (SMPTE 2022/2110), multicast or virtualised headend technologies.
- Satellite/DTH distribution experience.
Why apply?
You’ll join a highly experienced engineering team responsible for one of Europe’s most significant broadcast headend estates, working on both existing infrastructure and next-generation platform evolution. It’s an opportunity to own technically challenging projects that directly support services watched by millions every day.
