Role Description TARA Consulting is looking for a independent Toxicologist/Senior Toxicologist consultant to sub-contract to help with current projects related to toxicological evaluations and human health risk assessments.
Day-to-day tasks include reviewing scientific literature and toxicity data, and preparing clear, structured reports and risk assessment summaries for clients, including government agencies (DWI, EA, FSA), water companies, pharmaceutical companies etc.
A large part of the role will be to assist in providing toxicological advice to water companies via an 24/7 on call helpdesk and by writing toxicity datasheets.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Toxicology, including hazard identification, risk characterization and human health risk assessment.
- Laboratory Skills relevant to toxicology or related biomedical sciences, such as study design, data collection, and analytical techniques.
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D) and Research, including literature review, study evaluation, and evidence synthesis.
- Knowledge of Regulatory Affairs, with familiarity in regional and international regulatory frameworks for chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or consumer products.
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Environmental Health, or a closely related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, including use of common toxicology software tools (QSAR, BMD).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet deadlines.
- Experience in consulting or industry settings related to toxicology or risk assessment is highly beneficial.
