Project Manager – Creative Construction / Experiential
About the Role
A dynamic creative construction studio is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of set builds, installations, activations, and experiential projects across retail displays, film, TV commercials, events, brand experiences, and exhibitions.
This is a hands-on delivery role, working closely with clients, designers, production teams, workshops, and site crews to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high creative and technical standard.
The ideal candidate will have experience within retail displays, scenic production, exhibitions, events, or creative build environments, with a strong understanding of technical production, fabrication processes, and onsite installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle from initial concept through to production, installation, and completion.
- Lead the delivery of set builds, retail displays, brand activations, events, and experiential projects.
- Work closely with clients, designers, and production teams to interpret creative concepts and develop practical build solutions.
- Manage workshop production and onsite installation phases, ensuring projects run smoothly from start to finish.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, construction plans, and specifications.
- Coordinate workshop teams, site crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and complete post-project financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Ensure all projects are delivered in line with health & safety requirements and site documentation.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, internal teams, suppliers, and external partners throughout delivery.
- Identify and resolve issues quickly, making confident decisions to keep projects on programme.
- Maintain a high level of quality control and attention to detail throughout production and installation.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience within retail displays, film, TV, events, exhibitions, brand experiences, or similar creative production environments.
- Strong background in construction, workshop production, scenic build, fabrication, or technical delivery.
- Experience managing projects from design development through to manufacture and onsite installation.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, construction drawings, and build specifications.
- Experience managing workshop teams, installation crews, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Strong technical understanding of production methods, materials, and build processes.
- Good knowledge of health & safety requirements within workshop and site environments.
- Experience managing project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with clients, designers, and production teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and make decisions under pressure.
Desirable Experience
- Scenic carpentry / scenic fabrication experience.
- Retail display production experience.
- Set design or theatre production background.
