We are currently recruiting Fabricator Welders on behalf of our well-established client based in Barnsley. This is a permanent opportunity offering either day or night shifts, allowing you to choose the schedule that best suits you.
Working in a busy fabrication workshop, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel components while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble structural steel components, including:
- Universal Beams (UBs)
- Universal Columns (UCs)
- Parallel Flange Channels (PFCs)
- Circular Hollow Sections (CHSs)
- Carry out cutting, grinding and welding to specification.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Safely operate hand tools, fabrication machinery and measuring equipment.
- Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment where required.
- Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow all health and safety procedures.
About You
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Previous experience in structural steel fabrication and welding.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good knowledge of welding and metal fabrication processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to handle steel materials safely.
- A safety-first approach with a good understanding of workshop health and safety practices.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred (but not essential):
- A recognised qualification in Fabrication and Welding.
