My client, a leading global law firm, with offices in all the major cities across the globe, is looking to hire a HR Lead for EMEA to cover a 6-month FTC.
This is a rare opportunity to partner directly with senior business leaders and play a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy of a high-profile international practice group across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Working within a highly matrixed environment, you will act as the trusted HR and Talent advisor to senior stakeholders, driving strategic talent initiatives, workforce planning, performance management, career development and employee engagement across the region.
As the HR Lead for EMEA, you will work closely with practice group leadership to ensure people strategies are aligned with business objectives and future growth plans. You will provide both strategic and operational support across the full employee lifecycle while partnering with specialist HR teams to deliver best-in-class talent solutions.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering the people and talent strategy for the practice group across EMEA.
- Advising senior leaders on organisational design, workforce planning, succession planning and talent pipeline development.
- Leading regional talent review and promotion processes, ensuring consistency and fairness across multiple jurisdictions.
- Managing performance management frameworks for lawyers and senior legal professionals, including calibration and talent assessment processes.
- Coaching partners and senior leaders on performance, career development and talent-related matters.
- Supporting high-potential talent programmes and identifying future leadership capability across the practice.
- Coordinating learning and development initiatives, working closely with leadership and learning teams to address capability gaps.
- Delivering career coaching and development support for lawyers at varying stages of their careers.
- Advising on compensation and reward processes for senior legal professionals.
- Partnering with business leaders to review team structures, utilisation, resourcing levels and long-term workforce plans.
- Supporting the integration and onboarding of lateral hires and senior appointments across the region.
- Leading engagement initiatives, analysing feedback and implementing actions to strengthen employee experience and retention.
- Providing commercially focused guidance on employee relations matters in partnership with local HR teams.
- Working closely with centres of excellence including Recruitment, Learning & Development, Reward, Diversity & Inclusion and Mobility.
- Contributing to global and regional HR transformation projects and strategic talent initiatives.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR professional with a strong background in talent management and business partnering, ideally gained within a law firm, professional services or partnership environment.
You will demonstrate:
- Significant experience in strategic HR, Talent Management or HR Business Partnering roles.
- Exposure to international or multi-jurisdictional organisations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge senior leaders.
- Experience managing performance, succession planning and leadership development programmes.
- Excellent coaching and advisory skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and an ability to align people strategies with business objectives.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building capabilities.
- A collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience; experience within legal or professional services environments would be highly advantageous.
