Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for a large UK business operating within the international logistics and supply chain industry.
- Drive commercial growth, operational performance, and profitability across all business functions.
- Lead and develop senior management teams across Operations, Sales, Commercial, Customer Service, and Shared Services.
- Deliver business objectives through effective leadership, strategic planning, and performance management.
- Develop and implement long-term business strategies to support continued growth and market expansion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Identify new business opportunities and maximise revenue through commercial excellence.
- Ensure exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Lead organisational change and business transformation initiatives where required.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
- Represent the business at senior customer meetings, commercial negotiations, and industry events.
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating at Director or Senior Director level within the logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or wider supply chain industry is essential.
- Extensive leadership experience across Operations, Sales, Commercial, and Customer Service functions.
- Proven ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams within a complex logistics environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with a successful track record of driving business growth and profitability.
- Demonstrable experience developing and delivering strategic business plans.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong financial and operational management experience, including budget ownership and P&L responsibility.
- Ability to influence at executive level and build lasting relationships with key customers and partners.
- Results-driven with the ability to lead within a fast-paced, commercially focused organisation.
- Comprehensive understanding of international logistics, supply chain operations, and market dynamics.
- Experience within container shipping, ocean freight, or international liner services would be highly advantageous.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
