The Opportunity

Our client is a Tier 1 independent financial advisory firm with a market-leading franchise in renewable energy and infrastructure across the Nordic region. As a result of continued growth and a strong transaction pipeline, the firm is looking to hire an Associate to join its Stockholm office.

The successful candidate will become part of a high-performing team advising leading developers, infrastructure funds, utilities, independent power producers (IPPs) and strategic investors on domestic and cross-border M&A and capital raising transactions across the energy transition sector.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious investment banking professional to work on high-profile transactions within one of Europe’s most active renewable energy advisory platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of domestic and cross-border M&A and capital raising transactions from origination through to completion.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models, including DCF, comparable company, precedent transaction and merger models.
  • Prepare valuation analyses, investment memoranda, client presentations, pitch books and marketing materials.
  • Conduct detailed financial, commercial and strategic analysis across the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes alongside legal, technical, commercial and financial advisers.
  • Support senior bankers in managing client relationships and transaction execution.
  • Monitor market activity, industry developments and emerging investment trends across the Nordic energy transition landscape.

Candidate Profile

  • 3–6 years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or M&A Advisory.
  • Demonstrable transaction experience within renewable energy, energy transition and/or infrastructure.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience working on sell-side, buy-side and/or capital raising mandates.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercially minded, proactive and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Swedish or another Nordic language is advantageous, although candidates with strong Nordic renewable energy transaction experience will also be considered.
