Role Overview

Principal Consultant – Senior strategy and digital consulting leader at VML Enterprise Solutions. You will advise C‑suite global leaders, lead cross‑functional engagements, and drive transformational change across omni‑channel ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate at the C‑suite level to engage and lead clients through complex transformational change across omni‑channel ecosystems.
  • Lead cross‑functional engagements, serving as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders across major clients.
  • Build and nurture trusted client relationships, understanding their business challenges and objectives.
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to expand existing client relationships and generate new business.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior consultants, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing environment.
  • Leverage expertise in e‑commerce and specialist sector knowledge (retail, FMCG/CPG, B2B, automotive) to provide strategic guidance and solutions.
  • Conduct thorough business analysis, identify pain points and opportunities, and develop and present compelling proposals, roadmaps, and presentations.
  • Support delivery with business insights to keep teams focused on outcomes and continuously improve processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in management or consultancy roles within the e‑commerce domain.
  • In‑depth specialist sector knowledge in at least two of the following: retail, FMCG/CPG, B2B, or automotive.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate cross‑functional teams.
  • Exceptional relationship‑building and networking skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of digital ecosystems and technologies (e‑commerce platforms, CMS, PIM, agile software delivery).
  • Advanced problem‑solving, analytical, and lateral thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex ideas to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites within the UK and potentially within the EU.
