As their project portfolio continues to expand, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Director to provide strategic leadership across the delivery of major capital programmes, helping to shape the next generation of flexible energy infrastructure.
This is a newly created leadership role, established to strengthen senior project oversight as the business transitions into a major delivery phase. Sitting between the executive leadership team and Project Directors, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and commercially, whilst remaining closely connected to the realities of site execution and project delivery.
With responsibility for projects typically valued between £100 million and £500 million, this role offers the opportunity to lead the successful delivery of nationally significant energy infrastructure through late‑stage development, construction, commissioning and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities
Provide executive‑level leadership across multiple major infrastructure projects, ensuring successful delivery from late‑stage development through construction, commissioning and handover.
Lead and mentor Project Directors, fostering high‑performing project teams while driving consistency and excellence across the delivery function.
Bridge the gap between executive strategy and project execution, maintaining close oversight of project performance, key risks and critical decision‑making.
Develop project delivery strategies, including contracting models, procurement approaches, sequencing and execution planning.
Oversee the management of complex EPC and multi‑package contractor interfaces across civil, mechanical, electrical and commissioning workstreams.
Own programme performance, commercial outcomes, project controls and risk management across a portfolio of major capital projects.
Lead high‑value commercial negotiations, contractor engagement and strategic supplier relationships.
Act as the senior interface between development, engineering, grid, investment and executive stakeholders.
Ensure robust governance, reporting and assurance processes are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Drive continuous improvement across project delivery methodologies, standards and organisational capability.
Experience & Qualifications
Extensive experience delivering major energy or infrastructure projects valued at £100 million or above.
Proven leadership at Project Director, Senior Project Director or equivalent level within a developer, EPC contractor, principal contractor or major infrastructure organisation.
Strong engineering or construction background with end‑to‑end accountability for project delivery.
Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex contractor interfaces across major capital programmes.
Strong commercial expertise, including contract strategy, procurement and high‑value commercial negotiations.
Experience developing and implementing project delivery strategies across complex infrastructure environments.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence executive leadership, investors, contractors and technical teams.
Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, with professional accreditation considered advantageous.
