Overview

MAGIC AI is hiring a

hands-on operations leader

to build the operating system behind the business as we scale across the UK and US. This role is about installing planning, process, and cross-functional discipline that lets the company grow without operations becoming the bottleneck. You will own the core operational engine across supply chain, inventory, logistics, and operational finance, while providing lightweight oversight across people, legal, and company-wide execution. Your job is to create clarity, control, and cadence — so the CEO can see what is on track, what is at risk, and where intervention is needed.MandateTake full accountability for CM1 and CM2, and partner with the CMO and CFO to secure CM3 targets. This mandate runs across four pillars.Supply Chain, Logistics & 3PL (UK + US)End-to-end ownership of manufacturing, freight, customs, dual-region 3PL, and the unit economics of landed cost.Build a resilient supply chain across suppliers, freight, and dual-region fulfilmentOwn landed cost and operational drivers of marginSupply chain strategy and systems infrastructure, including ERP implementationInternational freight strategyUK: 3PL and warehouse process review and ownershipUS: full audit of 3PL, freight, and operational tax set-upReverse logistics — returns, grading, and restock flow design and ownershipImplement the right systems and reporting infrastructure to support scaleInventory Management & Operational FinanceThe operational counterpart to the CFO and Head of Finance — turns the financial plan into purchase orders, and the inventory reality into the financial plan.Build and run the company’s S&OP processOwn demand forecasting, inventory planning, ordering cadence, and supply planningComplete ownership of inventory accuracy. Establish safety stock policies and clear forward visibility on inventory riskCreate a reliable view of opening stock, inbound, outbound, and weeks of coverCOGS / GPM reporting and operational financial reportingSupport margin analysis, audit readiness, and investor-facing operational work where neededHR, Legal & Finance OpsPeople ops, hiring infrastructure, and external counsel across UK and US entitiesCreate clear planning and review cycles across demand, supply, finance, and executionComp bands, performance cycles, and employment compliance across UK + USUS entity and corporate tax set-upCommercial, IP, employment, and regulatory legal — managing external counselProduct complianceThe glue — cross-functional operating systemRuns the company’s operating cadence: weekly metrics review, quarterly planning, OKRs, exec staff meetings. The person every department head — including the CFO and Head of Finance — goes to when something is stuck between functions.KPIs: decisions made per week, blockers cleared, on-time quarterly delivery.What Success Looks LikeA clear, repeatable operating cadence is in placeDemand, supply, and finance are tied together in one planning processInventory risk is visible early, with clear actions and ownersKey projects are tracked and delivered with more consistencyThe CEO has a simple, reliable view of business health each dayTeams are less dependent on ad hoc heroics and more driven by processRequirementsMust-haves10-15+ years operating experience, including a senior role at a scaling consumer/hardware or DTC company shipping ideally large, heavy, expensive goodsDirect ownership of international supply chain (ideally UK US Asia manufacturing)Sourcing and ownership of warehousing, 3PL and delivery partners in the US and UKExperience building or rebuilding S&OP, forecasting, or inventory planning processes from scratchStrong commercial and financial literacy — can challenge a CFO’s model and own the operational drivers behind it, without needing to be the CFOTrack record managing people ops and external legal across multiple jurisdictionsHigh agency, low ego, written-first communicatorNice-to-havesConnected fitness, wearables, or AI hardware backgroundExperience with a Series A→B→C transitionExisting UK & US 3PL / freight forwarder relationshipsBenefitsCompetitive SalarySignificant Equity Share Options in the companyAn impact from day one.
