We are looking to recruit supportive and caring individuals with a passion for helping people in need, to deliver non‑clinical mental health and wellbeing support at Derbyshire Mind’s Crisis Support Drop‑In service across our three sites; Buxton, Ripley & Swadlincote.
The Senior Support Worker will work providing support and occasional cover for all three sites, subject to the needs of the service/s.
Derbyshire Mind’s Crisis Support Drop‑In services are supportive non‑clinical crisis services for adults who self‑define as needing immediate help with their mental health or emotional wellbeing. Located in Buxton, Ripley and Swadlincote, the services offer out‑of‑hours mental health help, support and signposting in a relaxed and comfortable community environment. The services are open on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, all year round.
We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and resilient mental health support workers to join our friendly supportive team and to help deliver this vital service to local people. This will include providing support to people who may be experiencing, or may otherwise experience, a mental health crisis. This includes offering a listening ear along with structured support to develop a wellbeing plan and signposting advice.
The Role
Role: Senior Support Worker: Crisis Support Drop‑In Service (CSDI)Hours: Full time: Average 37 hours per week including.Job Purpose: The Senior Support Worker role is a key member of the team both ensuring delivery of the CSDI Service, leading and working alongside the CSDI Service Team; Support Workers, Volunteers and other members of the team across all sites. The Senior Support Worker is responsible for providing leadership of the CSDI Team on‑site, liaising with other services, reporting to Derbyshire Mind’s Services Lead ensuring support to/for attendees in an empathetic, non‑judgemental, person‑centred manner.
