Overview

As the Medical Secretary, you will manage the administrative processes associated with patient pathways and contribute to the overall effectiveness of clinical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and clinical teams to deliver high quality coordinated and integrated care.
  • Liaise with patients, carers, GPs and other service users.
  • Book appointments for patients within National Targets and raise any capacity issues with the Line Manager.
  • Manage administrative processes associated with patient pathways, patient experience, patient flow and waiting list management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of RTT (desirable).
  • Robust knowledge of IT systems and ability to work with multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Excellent typing speed and grammar.
