Role Overview
We are recruiting a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker to cover days, nights, twilight shifts and weekends on a rota basis at Pershore Community Hospital, an inpatient ward with 26 beds.
Key duties include working closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to achieve rehabilitation goals while providing personalised, safe, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with admitting patients to the ward and care of their relatives.
- Perform delegated nursing care and clinical procedures under supervision.
- Provide safe and effective care and identify areas for improvement.
- Support patients with daily activities, meals, and personal care.
- Complete paperwork such as food diaries and fluid balance charts.
- Carry out patient daily and weekly assessments, including weighing, mattress cleaning, catheter changes, and toileting.
- Mobilise patients with appropriate equipment and liaise with physiotherapy.
- Maintain medication, catheters, lab samples, and health checks in line with policies.
- Restock supplies and ensure the ward is prepared for new admissions.
Requirements
- Current right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Qualification or competency to perform nursing duties, as assessed by senior staff.
