About the Role
Band 5 Occupational Therapist in an inpatient mental health hospital for men located at 22 Barkham Terrace Lambeth Road, London, Greater London, SE1 7PW.
Initial placement in the acute mental health unit with opportunity to rotate to other services. Working in a multidisciplinary team (MDT) with nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, OTAs, social workers, psychiatrists and 24/7 nursing support.
Main Duties
Assess, implement and develop OT treatment programmes according to service users’ diagnosis and identified needs. Base treatment plans on assessments and associated risks. Work autonomously with OTA support and as an integral member of the MDT to capture and manage risk and relapse in community settings.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and develop OT treatment plans.
- Implement OT interventions and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with the MDT to manage risk and relapse.
- Provide clinical supervision and support to colleagues as needed.
- Participate in service development and specialist interest groups.
Qualifications
- Registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC.
- Understanding of OT process/interventions and a hands‑on approach.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentations.
- Interest in adult mental health.
