Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people who have a disability? We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible people who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they want. The Service supports people with learning disabilities in their own homes 24 hours a day and involves sleep in duties and weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide all aspects of daily support, including supporting people to access activities and experiences in their local community, personal care and medication administration, ensuring needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes.
  • Support people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person‑centred approaches to enable them to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
  • Support people with dignity and respect to meet their day‑to‑day needs, including personal care supports.
  • Facilitate individuals to access a range of opportunities and experiences, either from their own home or in a community setting, such as swimming, walking, bowling, dancing, shopping etc.
  • Work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service‑specific policies and practice guidelines at all times.

Qualifications and Training

  • Experience working with adults who have a learning disability is desirable but not essential; the Service will provide necessary support and training.
  • Applicants without NVQ Level 3 at the time of appointment will be required to complete a QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care within the first two years of employment (where applicable). This training will be funded by the Service.

Employment Details

This position is part-time. Salary is quoted on a full‑time equivalent basis and will be paid on a pro‑rata basis.
