About the Role
The State Bushfire Mitigation Team is responsible for the management of vegetation on unallocated Crown land within townships across the state. This position plays a key role in reducing the risk and impact of bushfires on communities and will work in close partnership with our Indigenous Mitigation Crew to deliver effective mitigation outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Forestry mulching, slashing, cutting and maintaining firebreaks
- Assist with fire line construction and containment during bushfire events
- Operate a modern fleet of machinery and equipment to support the team’s objectives in managing fuel loads and improving fire resilience across the state
