Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and organised Construction Technician to join our team at Fareham College on a permanent, part-time basis (27 hours per week).

This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning within our Construction department. You will play a key role in preparing and maintaining workshop environments, helping to ensure that students develop practical, industry-relevant skills in a safe, well-equipped setting.

Working closely with teaching staff and under the direction of the Curriculum Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of workshops, contributing to a positive learning experience and successful student outcomes.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for teaching sessions
  • Support students within workshop environments as directed
  • Maintain and organise workshops, tools, and materials
  • Ensure all health, safety, and welfare procedures are followed
  • Identify and report hazards, taking appropriate action where required
  • Produce and maintain risk assessments and COSHH records
  • Support safe use of equipment and maintain training records
  • Assist in ordering, managing, and maintaining stock and resources
  • Set up, test, and store equipment as required
  • Support recycling and responsible use of materials
  • Contribute to EHCP-related activities where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and complete relevant administration
  • Undertake training and continuous professional development
  • Promote equality, inclusivity, and high standards across the College
  • Act as a First Aider (or be willing to train)
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role
