Job Title – Mobile Plant Fitter

Location – North Yorkshire / County Durham / Tyne and Wear

Salary – £47000 Basic = O/T

Shift – Days (Field-Based Role)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mobile Plant Fitter to join a leading heavy industry and plant maintenance business covering North Yorkshire, County Durham, and Tyne and Wear. This is a field-based role where you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of mobile and heavy plant equipment across multiple customer sites.

You will work independently and as part of a wider engineering team, ensuring all plant machinery is maintained to a high standard, minimising downtime, and delivering a high level of service to clients. The role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to work with a well-established and respected organisation.

Sector – Heavy Plant / Industrial Engineering

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter or Plant Engineer.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
• Experience working on heavy plant, construction machinery, or industrial equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.

Essential Requirements

• Mechanical engineering background.
• Experience with servicing, maintenance, and breakdown repair of plant equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Requirements

• Hydraulics and pneumatics experience.
• Electrical fault-finding knowledge (basic to intermediate).
• Experience working in a field-based or mobile engineering role.
• NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Plant Maintenance.
