Training & Development
Supported day‑to‑day by an experienced mentor at your base location. Monthly visits from a training assessor. Initial induction and training at head office (including uniform issue). Dedicated technical training days at head office during the programme. 20% of your working hours spent in training or study. Delivered by E.J. Markham & Son Ltd. By the end of the programme, you will be fully trained as a Level 3 Glazing Technician.
Responsibilities
- Repair chips in vehicle glass
- Replace windscreens and body glass on a range of vehicles
- Recalibrate sensors for features such as automatic wipers, automatic braking, lane detection systems
- Use modern vehicle technology and learn the latest tools and techniques
- Manual handling and lifting of vehicle glass
- Pass the UK driving test by the end of the apprenticeship (if not already passed)
- Once qualified, work field‑based and conduct outdoor work
Qualifications and Requirements
- GCSE English Language or Literature – Grade 4 or above
- GCSE Maths – Grade 4 or above
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Organisation and problem‑solving skills
- Customer care and teamwork
- Patience and a positive attitude
- Physical fitness
Salary & Working Hours
Annual wage: £14,560 (with salary increase after 12 months). Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (35 hours per week). Start date: Monday 7 September 2026. Duration: 18 months.
