Mobile FMD Technician role within the Fleet Management Division at Trane Technologies.
Where Is The Work
Location: Candidates for this position should be based around Greenford, North West London area. Additional locations may include Oxfordshire, Berkshire and North-West London (Milton Keynes, Luton, Aylesbury, etc.).

As a Mobile FMD Technician you will be part of a team that maintains a fleet of vehicles for a contract customer, providing service and maintenance. This role is part of the Fleet Management Division reporting to the FMD Operations and the FMD business Stream. You will need a flexible approach, traveling between customer sites within your dedicated area to carry out routine maintenance and repairs on a customer fleet.
What You Will Do
- Undertake comprehensive preventative maintenance and repair standards.
- Correct fault diagnosis to ensure replacement parts are fitted correctly and warranty claims are in line with warranty terms.
- Ensure full and complete end of shift handover including vehicle on or off-road status.
- Attend customer sites as required to carry out repairs.
- Complete job cards, service sheets, timesheets, and any other relevant paperwork accurately, timely and efficiently.
- Undertake diagnostic analysis where appropriate.
- Build rapport, develop trust and respect from both internal and external customers.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of an effective and proactive cultural environment.
- Perform any duties reasonably required for the effective operation of the area.
- Contribute towards continuous improvement of processes, methods and operating practices within the business stream.
- Undertake necessary training to become multi-skilled.
- Ensure the most efficient and highest possible standard of mechanical and electrical repair, preventative maintenance, and modification of customer vehicles and related ancillary equipment.
- Work as part of the team to maintain employee and customer relations to ensure that the workshop operation achieves all set financial and cultural objectives/targets.
- Enforce Company, Industry & Legal Health, Safety & Environmental standards personally and in others at all times.
- Maintain thorough understanding of all Company Safe Systems of Work and always adhere within the workshop or mobile operations.
- Report any accidents, risks and near misses without delay, in line with Company procedure.
- Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards within the workplace at all times.
- Ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times; report defective PPE immediately.
- Wear the allocated corporate uniform at all times.
What You Will Bring
- GCSEs in Mathematics and English, F-Gas 2079, electrical and mechanical certificates.
- Experience working in a mechanical environment; ability to read wiring diagrams and technical information.
- Full driving licence.
- Flexibility to work at different locations when required.
Essential – Mechanical and/or Refrigeration experience, ability to work with minimal day‑to‑day supervision, computer literate, excellent oral and written communication skills.
