Overview
We are launching a new forward‑thinking service designed to provide rapid, compassionate, and highly personalised support to people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including homelessness, substance misuse, offending behaviour and domestic abuse. This innovative model combines trauma‑informed practice, assertive outreach and multi‑agency collaboration to ensure safety and enable informed choices.
Responsibilities
As a social worker you will be independent in undertaking a full range of social work tasks: you will provide specialist assessments under the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, create strength‑based support plans, develop safety plans, and offer ongoing support to adults facing homelessness or domestic abuse. Working closely with housing, health, police and voluntary sector partners, you will lead on safeguarding concerns and ensure statutory duties are met. You will work flexibly across community settings, including outreach, sourcing emergency accommodation and partnering with agencies.
Qualifications
- Engage effectively using creativity, compassion and authority to overcome resistance, build relationships and communicate while maintaining professional boundaries with children, families and carers in complex, variable and emotionally challenging situations.
- Able to manage workload independently, applying critical reflection and analysis to maintain, develop and apply a range of effective judgments and assessments, utilising evidence to inform decision‑making and timely intervention for complex cases and safeguarding.
- Apply the principles of social justice, social inclusion and equality in all casework, challenging discrimination and oppression and demonstrating confident ethical reasoning in professional practice.
- Experience in homelessness, domestic abuse support, mental health or substance misuse is desirable.
- Empathy, creativity and a commitment to social justice are essential.
