Start Date: ASAP
Shift Pattern: 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (approximately 2 hours) Monday to Friday.
Location: Weymouth, Dorset (DT3)
Pay & Benefits: £17.05 per hour; 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata.
About Our Client
The client is a third‑year student at the University of Solent, studying Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science. He lives in Weymouth, uses a wheelchair full time, and requires support with his morning routine, health care and academic tasks. He has interests in sports (especially football), board and card games, baking, and watching medical dramas and the Star Wars franchise.
About the Job
This role provides direct support to help the client achieve his goals and aspirations. Care experience is not required; full training will be supplied.
Duties
- Assist with morning routine: hoisting, dressing, personal care (showering, washing, toileting), administering medication, and preparing breakfast.
- Support with hand exercises, hand splint application, hydrotherapy, and physiotherapy sessions.
- Provide academic support: attend lectures and seminars, take notes, retrieve books and laptop, set up laptop, and type notes.
- Assist with gym, practical sessions, boccia and travel to competitions.
- General assistance with daily care tasks as required.
Requirements
- Local to Weymouth DT3 (Essential).
- Physically fit, calm, patient and caring.
- Good organisational skills with ability to work independently.
- Good sense of humour, friendly, positive attitude.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable around pets (client has a cat).
- Clean and tidy appearance and mannerisms.
- Non‑smoker and non‑vaper.
