We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Disability Adjustments Assistant to join our Inclusion and Disability team. This is a pivotal role, directly contributing to ensuring that anticipatory adjustments are identified and communicated for disabled students.

About The Role

As a Disability Adjustments Assistant, you will be responsible for reviewing supporting information to identify students requiring standard adjustments. You will generate Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) using approved templates/guidance and escalated students requiring additional adjustments to Disability Advisers. This role supports legal compliance under the Equality Act 2010 and contributes to an inclusive student experience. The team works in a hybrid manner, with campus presence on three days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review reports to identify both new and returning students who have not yet engaged with the Inclusion and Disability Service.
  • Generate standard adjustments and Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) using approved templates and processes to ensure timely support and legal compliance.
  • Review supporting information, categorising it into predefined groups to support efficient triage and processing.
  • Collaborate closely with Disability Advisers and administrative colleagues to ensure a coordinated and student‑centred approach to student support.
  • Provide sensitive, first‑level guidance to students where appropriate, adapting communication to meet diverse needs.

About You

  • The ability to apply a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to their work, with the ability to apply standard procedures and categorise information effectively.
  • Excellent IT skills, with the ability to input accurately into CRM databases with a view to producing learning plans for students.
  • Be able to handle queries sensitively and with empathy demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage their own workload.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and adapt flexibly to a changing workplace.
