Job Description:

Rygor Plant, an award‑winning company recognized as a Great Place to Work for three consecutive years, is looking for an experienced Plant Technician with HGV experience and relevant qualifications.

As a Plant and HGV Technician, you will keep customers’ vehicles and machinery fully maintained and compliant to maximise uptime, delivering exceptional service to the highest quality.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

  • Perform major and minor repairs to plant machinery and heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles as required.
  • Carry out PDI works and attachment set up on plant machinery.
  • Perform mobile repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
  • Conduct regular inspections and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hours and schedules.
  • Maintain inventory in the service vehicle and keep it clean from oil spills and dust.
  • Work with other departments, including the sales team, to ensure a quality and reliable service level for customers.
  • Collaborate with repair teams to diagnose and plan repairs for machines/vehicles.
  • Record machines/vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
  • Complete relevant documentation and paperwork and provide warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements, escalating as needed.
  • Provide in‑house training to recruits and trainees as required.
  • Carry out your role with quality, compliance and health and safety at the forefront.

Skills & behaviours required

  • Qualification: Level 3 (NVQ, City and Guilds or IMI) in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance, plus plant machinery repair and maintenance to a minimum of Level 3. Ability to identify worn and faulty components per DVSA Standards and a full UK driving licence for the relevant vehicle and machinery classes.
