Position: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Type: Permanent
Basic Salary: £38,000 (plus £1,500 for Ventilation AP, plus on call and OT)
Hours: Mon‑Fri 37.5 hours per week
Location: Humberside
We are recruiting for a mechanical maintenance engineer based in the Humberside area, covering the maintenance of a large scale estate. The role will involve general mechanical aspects of building maintenance including plant room, basic plumbing, HVAC and compliance, plus lead and supervisory duties.
The role is a permanent position paying up to £38,000 basic. For candidates with Ventilation AP (or after training) the basic will rise by £1.5k. On‑call duty one in five days (c £120 standby plus OT) and a pool van is available for on‑call times. 25 days holiday plus statutory leave.
Responsibilities
- Completing PPM and reactive maintenance for mechanical plant room
- Maintaining pumps and valves, plumbing, basic AHU/fan coil/ventilation
- Performing checks and compliance duties including water/tap temperatures
- Small works installation and emergency repairs
- All ad‑hoc maintenance tasks
- Supervise and oversee contractors on site – lead engineering
- Work as a Ventilation AP (training provided)
Qualifications
- A qualified Mechanical Engineer
- Experience in plant room, ventilation, AHU’s, FCU’s etc.
- Previous PPM and reactive maintenance experience
- Excellent client‑facing skills
- Lead and supervisory experience
- Willingness to complete Ventilation AP training (or previously trained)
- Willingness to complete fabric and plumbing tasks
- Willing and able to pass a DBS check
