Teaching Personnel is looking for caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work in welcoming and inclusive schools across Middlesbrough from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to succeed both academically and personally.
Whether you’re an experienced Learning Support Assistant, a recent graduate, or have transferable skills from roles such as youth work, coaching, care, or childcare, we’d love to hear from you.
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
- Work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
- Support pupils’ academic progress, confidence, communication, and social development.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help students overcome barriers to learning.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, teaching staff, and parents/carers where appropriate.
- Experience working with children or young people in a school, care, youth work, coaching, mentoring, or similar setting (desirable but not essential).
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while using your own initiative.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop professionally.
