Assistant Customer & Quality Officer (Highway and Commercial Grounds Maintenance)
This challenging yet rewarding role directly assists the Assistant Streetcare Manager to lead, motivate and manage a large team of operational staff to undertake all required duties related to the scheduled mowing of urban and rural roadside verges and public open spaces, weed control, hedge cutting, mechanical sweeping, general vegetation management, and a portfolio of contracted commercial works.
The role is based from one of our operational depots and is largely desk‑oriented, with a degree of on-site visits to monitor quality and engage with customers, contractors, and our frontline operational teams.
The council’s StreetCare team takes the lead in ensuring the borough is clean, safe and attractive. We are looking for a candidate passionate about local environment and who can make positive contributions.
