Assistant Manager – Full Time

We are recruiting an Assistant Manager for our shop in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. This is a permanent, full‑time role of 43 hours a week, typically spread over 5 days of 7 hours each, including at least one weekend shift. Full‑time candidates must be fully flexible throughout the work week.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the shop manager to run an efficient shop and provide excellent customer service
• Develop your team of retail assistants through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
• Take responsibility for the shop in the shop manager’s absence, ensuring customer care, quick deliveries, and completion of shop routines to maintain a safe, clean, and tidy shop
• Motivate and guide the team to control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste, and payroll
• Support the shop manager with recruitment and induction of new team members

Qualifications

• Friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work
• People person who can easily build strong working relationships with colleagues and customers
• Trustworthy and reliable, as you will be an important part of a small team
• Some experience as a manager, team leader, or supervisor
• Complete an Employment Verification check and a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland) if successful and offered the position
