Job Description

Location: This role provides outreach services across Surrey

We are looking for Support Workers to work in areas such as Guildford, Farnham, Godalming, Egham, Camberley, Ash Vale and the wider Surrey area.

Hours: Negotiable variable hours contracts available to work around your schedule.

Training: Fully paid training is given including the industry recognised Care Certificate, and further development opportunities are available including Positive Behaviour Support and opportunities to study for accredited National Vocational Qualifications.

Our Independent SupportWorkers are a vital part of how we nurture independence in adults aged 16+.

You will be responsible for:

Providing high-quality support to our young adults and helping to plant their day-to-day lives whilst working to achieve their goals and promote their independence, whether this be supporting with independent travel training, learning to cook or finding work experience.

Encouraging and supporting with tasks and goals they have set for themselves.

Recording session data and outcomes.

Flagging up any concerns or potential for concern that you may have relating to a person we support to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements

Resilience and adaptability are key as this role involves lone working on a 1:1 basis

Hold a UK driving licence with access to a vehicle which can be used for organisational purposes and business insurance is essential for this role. Halow reimburses business expenses at a rate of 45p per mile.

Right to work in the UK Please note we are currently unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

Willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check. The initial cost of the DBS application will be paid for by Halow. PLEASE NOTE, it is a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in Regulated Activity (Under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups Act 2006) to apply for a role that requires them to work unsupervised with that particular group (i.e. adults at risk, children or both).

Professional or personal experience of care work is desirable, but we also pride ourselves on a values-based approach and the main skill we are looking for is an ambition to help others.
